StudyIn.HK (the “Site”, domain studyin.hk) takes the privacy of every visitor seriously. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect, how we use it, where we store it, and what your rights are.

1. What we do not collect

• We do not require account registration or login to read any article.
• We do not run ad networks, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking SDKs.
• We do not sell personal information to anyone.

2. What we do collect

Server-side request logs

Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) records standard HTTP request metadata: IP address, user agent, referer, timestamp, and the URL requested. These logs are retained for security and abuse-mitigation purposes only, then rotated out by Cloudflare on their standard schedule. We do not link these logs to any other identifier.

Cookies

The Site sets only one functional cookie:

• studyin_lang — remembers whether you chose zh-cn or en so the language router does not prompt you again. It contains no personal data and expires after one year. You can clear it from your browser at any time.

We do not set advertising or analytics cookies.

Analytics

If we enable an analytics tool in the future, we will use a privacy-respecting one (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics or Plausible) that does not set cookies and does not collect IP addresses or unique identifiers. This page will be updated before any such change goes live.

Voluntary contact

If you email us at [email protected], your email address and message are stored in our mailbox so we can reply. We do not add you to any marketing list. If you want your message deleted after we reply, just say so.

3. Third parties

The Site embeds the following third-party assets:

• Cloudflare — CDN, DNS, hosting (privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/).
• Pagefind — runs entirely in your browser; no data leaves your device.

External outbound links to universities, government departments, or partner platforms (e.g., a student matching form) are clearly labelled as outbound. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies — please read them before submitting any information.

4. Your rights

You can:

• Request a copy of any personal information we hold about you (typically: any email correspondence).
• Request correction or deletion of that information.
• Withdraw consent for any future contact.

5. Children

This Site is intended for prospective university and postgraduate applicants — typically aged 17 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

6. International transfers

Our hosting (Cloudflare Pages) and email (Cloudflare Email Routing → Gmail) operate globally. Your request data may be processed in the country closest to you. By using the Site, you consent to such international processing.

7. Updates

If this policy changes materially, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, post a notice on the homepage.
